数采行业因为受到了GPRS、GSM等业务的影响，正出现一次比较大的变革，特别是在远距离方面，传统的MODEM、RTU方式正受到很大的冲击，在我们经手的很多环境监控、管道监控、路灯节能、水文监控方面很少有客户能经受GPRS DTU的诱惑。DTU的基于网络和透明通信方式深受大家的喜爱，只是目前DTU的价格相对而言还是比较高，如果能掉到GSM MODEM的价格就比较合适了。除此之外移动对于数据业务的支持还是不够，早期还可以用神州行卡，现在已全部关闭了，只能用**通，而**通每月50元的月租实在让人很恼火，一个城市的路灯节能控制器如果全部上GPRS，假设有1000个点，那么每个月就需要5万元的开支，还不包括流量的收费，对于公共事业这还算好，对于工厂或者电梯的监控就很难受了。
无论如何GPRS DTU是一个方向，单节点月费用不**过二十元，单节点价格低于400元时将是其大行其市的日子。
